Por fin!  

Peace Corps process: 

1.  Think about maybe applying for a few years. 

2.  Decide you are crazy enough to do it and just apply. 

3.  Have an interview, go through lots of medical stuff, generally wait around in suspense hoping you aren´t sent to Kazakhstan.

4.  Finally find out you are going to the Dominican Republic! Gracias a Dios!

5.  Wait around some more until you leave.

6.  Get on a plane to the Caribbean and start 10 weeks of training, during which time you are still in suspense about where you will actually be living.  (Especially in the DR, where there is a huge range of placements and living situations.)

7.  FINALLY find out where you are going. 

8.  Go there!

I am in Tabara Arriba, Azua, a small pueblo about 3 hours from Santo Domingo, in the southwest of the country.  So far all I can say for sure is that it´s beautiful, really green and surrounded by mountains, and that my third (and final) host family seems great.
